Alex Marco - Untitled, 2016. Packaging stuff, pigments, crayons, wood and foam. 25x17cm. / These pieces are part of parallel block of work to my common language: I took a break to extinguish the material I had left in the studio (wooden boards, some iron, cardboard, various objects, pigments, etc.) before buying more. They are residual pieces. I was interested in creating a visual tension towards the edge of the painting; not just painting on the surface but also around the edges. It’s like a flower whose petals are pulled out from the inside to the outside and rotates around itself. It is as if a liquid overflowed the edges of a glass, causing the paint to take a more physical, more sculptural property.
